Vittoria Federici is the co-director of the Program on Civil-Military Relations in Arab States at the Carnegie Middle East Center, where her work focuses on defense affairs and security issues related to North Africa and the Levant.

Vittoria Federici is the co-director of the Program on Civil-Military Relations in Arab States at the Carnegie Middle East Center, where her work focuses on defense affairs and security issues related to North Africa and the Levant.

Previously, Federici carried out extensive research on the Syrian conflict and transitional processes in the Middle East at the Brookings Doha Center and at The Shaikh Group. She also spent four years working on a track II project aimed at promoting dialogue and building consensus between key Syrian actors.

Federici has published her research with the Carnegie Middle East Center and the Brookings Institution. Her analysis on Middle East affairs has also appeared in Limes and The SAIS Review of International Affairs.
